Doctor Lestini
The "Back Bone" of Our Center
William F. Lestini, MD is a graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine and one of a handful of specially trained spinal surgeons in the Triangle. He completed a spinal surgery fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio. He also was chief resident in orthopedic surgery at George Washington University Medical Center.
Before moving to Raleigh, he served as chief of spine service at the orthopedic department of the Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD.
Dr. Lestini is on the teaching faculty with several manufacturers of spinal implants. He has presented educational programs internationally and has traveled as far as Japan to lecture on minimally invasive spine technologies. He also teaches area doctors on new techniques at his practice.
Dr. Lestini has been a pioneer in spine treatment, using innovative treatments and state-of-the-art equipment to treat both acute and chronic back pain. At Triangle Spine and Back Care Center℠, Dr. Lestini's philosophy is to provide patients with individualized care, addressing health in a holistic manner, and improving quality of life. He believes in using the least invasive treatment possible and seeing patients through to recovery.
He has been published in several scientific journals and frequently speaks to community and medical groups about spinal health and injury. He is a member of the North American Spine Society, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the North Carolina Spine Society, and the Wake County Medical Society. He is a consultant to the North Carolina Industrial Commission Medical Liaison Committee.
He is married and has two daughters.
