"Over a year's time I became badly bent forward and to the right, gradually giving up running, then tennis, biking and finally golf, as well as some routine daily activities. Since there was no pain, the diagnosis was difficult and time-consuming. Eventually it became clear that the cause was damage to the lower spine and the search on spinal surgeons began.

I was impressed with the straight-forward approach, the pre-op schedule and the professionalism of Dr. Lestini and the staff at Triangle Spine and Back Care Center.

Since the spinal fusion (L-3, 4 & 5) I have followed the post-op progression of physical therapy, stretches, exercises and strengthening detailed by Dr. Lestini. In fact, my physical therapist indicated that this was the most comprehensive and detailed recovery program they had seen for this surgery.

Yes, be patient, it takes a while and there are the occasional "bad days," but at six months I was walking well and standing much straighter; at nine months I'm doing hour long walks, riding my bike 8-12 miles and have hit some golf balls. My daily routine is back to normal, including fishing, crabbing and work around the house. If you have a back problem that Dr. Lestini says he can fix--count on it!"
