"I am a sixty-eight year old woman that had suffered periodic back pain for several years. Numerous visits to various doctors produced no appreciable decrease in my discomfort. Remedies were usually pain-killers or physical therapy.
In July of 2008 upon returning from a visit to Colorado I started experiencing excruciating pain in the lower back and down my right leg to the point that I needed a wheel chair to get out of the airport. When we arrived home there was a letter from the last exam I had from my doctor in which an MRI was taken of my back. The letter explained the results of the MRI and had suggested we seek out a Spinal Surgeon.
My husband placed a call to Dr. Lestini’s office and was asked to fax a copy of the MRI to his office. Thirty minutes later we received a call that we had an appointment two days later. Dr. Lestini ordered several tests and determined the type of surgery that was needed. He explained everything to us in term that we could understand and calmed any fears we may have had about the surgery.
On August 31, Dr. Lestini performed several procedures on my back (approximately 7 hours) including Bone Grafts, Flexible Fusion, and removal of a large cyst.
The very next day I started walking again, and to my surprise, without pain (except for some discomfort at the surgical site). After about two weeks I started physical therapy. Two months later Physical Therapy was complete and I was totally free of any pain, I had full mobility, and it was as though I never had a problem.
Dr. Lestini in my mind is a miracle worker. Prior to surgery I could not walk but for a few steps and only in excruciating pain. I could only sleep in a recliner and had to take numerous pain medicines just to make it through the day. From the 1st day after surgery until today (6 months later), I am totally pain free and I experienced no decrease in mobility. I am very, very happy to have been the beneficiary of Dr. Lestini’s expertise and guidance.
I should also mention that his staff has always treated my husband and me with the utmost courtesy and respect. They are all true professionals and I feel that I owe them all a great debt of gratitude."
