"When a health condition can be associated with a holiday, it's easy to remember when it occurred. For me, difficulty in walking began five Christmases ago. In December of 2001 I was at Triangle Town Center, walking from my car to the mall entrance. 'Can I make it back to the car after running one errand? Will I fall? Will someone see it happen?'
An MRI and x-rays showed a definite problem. One orthopedic doctor and two surgeons told me that my problem wasn't "bad enough" to warrant any surgery. Another visit to another surgeon and more tests with lots of reading on the subject--I opted for the "least invasive surgical procedure." No second opinion. Bad choice. No relief.

In February of 2006, my new primary care physician recommended Dr. Lestini. From the moment I was greeted in his office, I sensed a different and caring atmosphere. My eight hour surgery was August, 2006. Removal of scar tissue that formed from the first surgery took much of the time.
To be honest, the first three weeks of recovery were quite challenging. Fortunately, my spouse was a great help and a big cheerleader. We followed to the letter of the law, the protocol that Dr. Lestini laid out, including my faithfulness to physical therapy and frequent short walks along with a healthy diet.
No longer is my quality of life compromised.
Within eight weeks of the surgery, I was walking a mile and a half in less than a half hour. When I told Dr. Lestini that he's a miracle man, he smiled and responded, 'It's God's Work.' To that I'd add, 'and you, Dr. Lestini, are a person He uses to make miracles happen.' Again, God bless each of you for bringing me a new lease on life. "
