I was dealing with severe pain in my spine and loss of feeling in my legs and feet. I had tried every medicine known to man, and no other surgeon in Raleigh would consider operating on me, except for Dr. Lestini.
He stabilized my spine by inserting titanium screws and cable on both sides in the joints of the discs through the sacrum. Then he took out the vertebrae between the L5-S1 discs and the S1 discs and sacrum and replaced them with metal cages attached to the discs, parts of my old crushed bone, bone marrow and artificial bone, with cable and screws.
Twelve months later the bone has healed nicely and I’m walking tall for 3/4 mile every day with the pain becoming less and less each day. Intense Physical Therapy for the past nine months has also helped my recovery. This surgical procedure, done by Dr. Lestini, gave me several more years of quality life.
